Alex Yannacone has an extensive background in implementation and trainings for prevention and intervention of mental health services and education. As the Director of Education and Community Programs at the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Depression Center, Alex provides programs and trainings addressing mental wellbeing for workplaces, schools, and communities across the United States. She is also a master trainer in suicide prevention trainings including QPR and VitalCog. Prior to her work at the Center, Alex contributed to the oversight, management, and delivery of a statewide child abuse and neglect prevention program. Additionally, Alex has provided therapeutic services to at-risk families and the refugee population within Colorado.

“201” Level – Mental Health Matters
Objective:
To raise awareness of the importance of our own and others’ optimal mental health to the quality of our work, the retention and development of our people and the foundation of our profession.
Vision:
A profession where we are just as comfortable taking care of and talking about mental health as we are about physical health, recognizing the importance of all aspects of health as a foundation for thriving professionally and personally.
"201" Level – Mental Health Matters:
Open discussion session where participants will learn the “basics” of mental health terminology and definitions, the wide variety of mental health matters, including identification and dispelling of stereotypes and breaking down stigmas. Participants will build awareness of what possible mental health issues do and do not look like to assist in identifying such in themselves and others, and learn about the variety of appropriate responses and range of help available.
