Jane Ferdig is an internal Subject Matter Expert on both individual and business tax for the Colorado Department of Revenue's Education & Training Team. As a former educator and tax examiner, Jane combines her knowledge of learning with her experience with state taxation to enhance information and materials available for both tax professionals and the public. She also holds a certification in Training and Facilitation from The Association for Talent Development. The Education & Training Team is responsible for collaborating with industry experts and tax policy officials to develop complete, accurate, and effective training materials on a wide range of taxation topics. Jane creates material to simplify and explain complex tax information and procedures to Colorado taxpayers and internal CDOR employees. Team members have been recognized by other states for their training material and content. Recently, Jane has been involved in multiple conference presentations and webinars to provide legislative updates on matters affecting taxation for tax year 2024 forward.
Colorado tax legislation continues to evolve, with significant implications for both tax practitioners and their clients. This course provides a timely overview of recent and pending legislative updates affecting Colorado income tax, with a particular focus on new and modified tax credits. Participants will explore how these changes are likely to impact 2025 tax filings and planning for the 2026 tax year. Through analysis of enacted bills and regulatory developments, attendees will learn how to identify key changes, assess their applicability to client situations, and implement proactive tax planning strategies.
