Description:
Ethical culture is essential for sustainable corporate governance, preventing fraud, and creating long-term organizational value. Corporate culture is not just a concept; it appears through behaviors, decisions, and the "tone at the top." Boards, executives, and audit committees must actively manage culture as a way to reduce risk by deterring fraud and preventing ethical failures. They should also view it as a strategic asset that improves reputation, productivity, and employee engagement. Issues like fraud triggers, whistleblowing, governance structures, and compliance frameworks illustrate how ethical failures, such as weak oversight, pressure to meet targets, and retaliation against whistleblowers, are directly linked to corporate scandals.
