He also handles other business transactions and some employment matters. Nick grew up in Cedar City, Utah, and he received his undergraduate degree in finance from Southern Utah University in 2007. Nick graduated from the University of Colorado Law School in 2010.

Accounting professionals often face legal issues ranging from ownership disputes to being called as witnesses in litigation. This session equips CPAs with the knowledge to navigate common legal challenges in practice, whether they arise internally within a firm or in service to clients. Participants will examine strategies for limiting disputes among owners of an accounting business and small businesses generally. The program also outlines the structure of Colorado’s court system and explores alternative dispute resolution options, such as mediation and arbitration. In addition, attendees will analyze scenarios in which accountants may serve as third parties, witnesses, or parties in litigation or arbitration. Real-world examples will illustrate how contracts, governance documents, and dispute resolution provisions can mitigate risk and protect professional interests.
