Rob Burton began his professional career in an Austin, Texas, tax practice where he focused on tax planning and compliance for individuals and businesses. In 1998, he became the Chief Financial Officer of a local law firm and then served as CFO of various medium-sized, privately-held companies for the next 21 years. In 2019, he formed the CPA firm that later merged to become Tandem CPAs. He now provides services in the areas of tax compliance and planning, CFO consulting, executive leadership coaching and small business consulting.
Throughout his career, Rob has always maintained a private tax practice in order to keep current with tax laws and best practices in tax planning and tax compliance. This allowed him to gain extensive experience in tax compliance and planning for individuals, businesses, trusts and estates, as well as knowledge of all facets of business strategy and operations. Rob earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas State University, and he is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Colorado and Texas.
Rob lives in Larimer County with his wife, Megan, an accomplished author and poet. They have two daughters who still think their dad is out of touch, no matter how many years of experience he has under his belt. When not working with clients, you can usually find Rob riding his bicycle on the roads of Colorado or fishing the saltwater bays of Texas with Cowboy, his lovable Labrador Retriever.
