COCPA Blog Post Submission Guidelines

Colorado Society of CPAs (COCPA) blog

Submitting a blog post to the COCPA blog is a great way to position yourself as a subject matter expert, contribute to the profession, and engage with peers. Blog posts should be timely, relevant, and informational — not promotional — and written in a clear, conversational tone. Our audience includes more than 6,400 COCPA members, as well as nonmember professionals, students, and faculty. Posts generally range from 400–900 words and follow AP Style (with a few COCPA-specific tweaks). COCPA Video Submission Guidelines
We’d love your help promoting your session and the PEAK Summit by recording a short video! These videos will help generate excitement, boost attendance, and highlight the depth of expertise our speakers bring to the event.

Your video will:

  • Introduce you to the PEAK audience
  • Highlight your session topic and value
  • Promote your presence at the Summit
  • Encourage others to register and attend

Video Specs

  • Length: 30–60 seconds
  • Orientation: Vertical (preferred for social media) or Horizontal
  • Format: .mp4 or .mov
  • Tone: Friendly, confident, and authentic — speak directly to the camera

What to Say (Pick 2–4 prompts)

Choose what feels most natural, but please include the event name, COCPA, and the date somewhere in your message.
Here are some prompts to get you started:

  • “I’m speaking at PEAK: The Colorado Accounting & Finance Summit, hosted by COCPA, November 12–13 in Denver…”
  • “Here’s why I’m excited to be part of PEAK…”
  • “My background is in [your field], and I’ll be sharing insights on [session topic]…”
  • “If you’re in [audience field], you won’t want to miss this session because…”
  • “This event brings together some of the sharpest minds in Colorado finance — I’m honored to be on the speaker lineup.”
  • “Join me in exploring [brief session takeaway or theme]…”

Video Tips

  • Film in a well-lit, quiet space with minimal background noise.
  • Avoid reading from a script — speak naturally and keep it conversational.
  • Use your phone or webcam — no need for professional production.
  • Smile and bring energy. Your passion for the topic goes a long way!
