Stacey Roberts, Director of the SALTovation team at TaxOps, has been making state and local tax (SALT) less taxing for thousands of businesses for 25 years. She guides dynamic businesses through compliance and strategic planning minimizing risk and strengthening tax positions. Stacey advises both businesses and tax professionals, managing matters related to state income/franchise and sales and use tax for businesses across industries, identifying planning opportunities and mitigating controversy issues with auditors and taxing jurisdictions. Stacey entered accounting with Andersen Worldwide/Andersen LLP, where she honed her SALT experience. She spent time at KPMG and Deloitte before moving in-house with a Fortune 500 company to lead and manage their SALT Department. Prior to joining TaxOps, Stacey led the national SALT practice at a regional firm. She is a member of the Colorado Legislative Tax Policy Task Force and a frequent speaker and author on SALT issues for industry and professional organizations including the Journal of State Taxation, Strafford Publishing and more.

Dr. Kristine Brands is an Assistant Professor of Management at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants Board of Regents and the Institute of Management Accountants Technology Solutions and Practices Committee. She is past president of the Colorado Society of CPAs Educational Foundation and is a member of its Board of Directors. Her research interests include business analytics, accounting ethics, XBRL, accounting for sustainability, organizational development for accounting course quality, and the integration of technology in accounting courses.
She has authored numerous columns for Strategic Finance and CFO.com, a dozen peer reviewed articles, and speaks nationally and internationally on accounting and technology issues. She holds a BA in History from the University of Rochester, an MBA in Accounting from Emory University, a Certificate in Applied Science in Software Engineering from Harvard University Extension, and a Doctorate in Management from Colorado Technical University. She is a CMA.
