1. Distinguish OBBBA provisions that were made permanent, newly enacted, or terminated, and apply the correct effective dates to TY2026 returns.

2. Determine client eligibility for the new tips, overtime, senior, and car-loan-interest deductions, and apply the revised SALT cap and updated Child Tax Credit rules.

3. Apply OBBBA business provisions — QBI, bonus depreciation, Sec. 163(j), Sec. 179, and domestic R&E expensing — using TY2026 inflation-adjusted amounts.
