AICPA Raises Concerns About PTIN Information Release

In response to Freedom of Information Act requests, the Internal Revenue Service has released information about preparer tax identification number holders, and that information is now appearing on PTIN lookup websites. The AICPA has had numerous discussions with the IRS about this issue, and in response to AICPA concerns, the IRS has made some changes to the information it collects from PTIN holders.
